Friday I had a terrible migraine, so finally decided to try my prescription. Turned out I kinda had a bad reaction, so had 2 1/2 very miserable days where I wasn't very energetic. By late Saturday, I was feeling like I could be a little creative, so I worked on an easy project that has been waiting for me for many months. I would cut the fabric, get part of the pieces pinned, take a long break, and then go back to work. By Sunday afternoon I finally started feeling a bit more human, and surprised myself by finishing two quick quilts, three table cloths, and a wall hanging. Not bad for feeling like I'd been run over by a mac truck! My next project is a biggie - a king size quilt! That won't be something I'll just whip together, I know, but will be a fun challenge!
Wow! I can't believe it's been SO long since I last was on my blog. Guess it was a long dry spell in terms of any sewing projects! Musta needed some motivation. Well, as it turns out, a new baby boy entered the world a few days ago - our daughter and her husband are proud Auntie and Uncle to Diego! I had some of the Peter Rabbit type fabric just waiting for a wee one, and I was able to get that quilt made in record time. It's will be off to the new little family this week. Have to tell you, the little prince is absolutely precious! (ps sorry for the color shift in these pictures - the lighting in the different rooms in the house aren't very conducive to good photos - yikes!)

It turned out I DID have time to sew cloth napkins for our Christmas table - didn't want to be out-done by Martha Stewart! ha! Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of our place-settings! But trust me, the Christmas dinner table looked nice!

Hadn't been sewing for awhile, but wanted to make a new tablecloth for Christmas dinner.

in progress ... Was my first attempt using my serger - was a little intimidating at first, but I finally figured it out and am pleased with the result.
I found this fabric at my favorite quilt shop in Albuquerque. Now I need to make some dark green napkins - not sure if I'll have time for that since I was so slow getting this finished. But the dinner table should look nice, eh? :-)
finished project ... :-)

How cute is this fabric? The flannel was so cozy and soft to work with. I'm spoiling the surprise, but this blanket is for Chico, our daughter and son-in-law's Chihuahua. When they make their trip to visit us for Christmas, Chico can be cozy and warm on the plane :-)

Update - turns out the new baby is a beautiful baby boy. Mom and baby are doing fine! Also turns out that the new parents are using Peter Rabbit as the theme for their new baby's nursery, so this worked out great! Not very often that such coincidences occur, huh? :-)

Finished project. The new parents-to-be want the gender of their baby to be a surprise, so this will work for either a new baby boy or girl :-)
